President of the Board

I have been serving in one form or another my whole life. From active duty Army to the Medical field and presently in Real Estate, serving others has brought me the most satisfaction and joy. I have led a Women’s life group for many years and have discipled and mentored young women in their walks with God. Sharing and pouring into others lives is what God has called me to do.

I have been a Real Estate Inspector for well over twenty years with years of home and multi-family construction experience. Paying attention to detail is so important to me. This served me well as the Head of Security at our church for ten years and being a couples life group leader for many years. Sharing and growing in God’s word with others is so rewarding.

Our Story

Our story begins when we went on our first mission trip with our church in 2013. Grace Point Church sponsors missionaries all over the world, and we were sent along with a group of church members to assist our missionaries at Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras.

Here we were able to see first hand how God takes an impossible situation and makes it run smoothly with help from the missionaries serving on the front line. At the same time, we were also able to see the challenges that missionaries face on a daily basis. This trip had changed our lives forever. We left Honduras with a heart filled for missions and a deepening desire to serve God on the mission field. We immediately became involved with missionaries that we knew, shipping clothing to support their ministries, hosting them when they returned home on furlough, staying in touch with them regularly to let them know they were not forgotten, and encouraging them in their efforts to continue the work God had called them to do.

For some time after returning, we prayed that God would use us in His work on the mission field and through prayer and circumstance it became very clear what our role in God’s plan would be. Speaking directly with missionaries, we had our eyes opened to some of the problems they faced when they return to the United States. This field of work to assist missionaries became clearer as we discovered that some of the most difficult problems for missionaries did not occur in the country where they were serving.  Some of the most stressful and difficult times were coming home.

When home on furlough, missionaries are busy with fundraising and visiting church members to promote mission work. As most mission families sell everything they have to enter the mission field, they are dependent on churches, friends, and family for a place to stay when on furlough. They have limited funds, and the expense of housing their family in hotels or apartments for a few months is next to impossible to do. Unfortunately, most of the time friends and family are not able to offer them the space needed to rest and rejuvenate as required. Most churches also are not "set up" to handle the housing of the missionary and their families.

God has placed it on our hearts and given us a vision of suppling missionaries a furnished house to stay in while they are home seeing supporters, raising new funding, getting medical care, etc. We are currently raising funds to purchase a few properties with the vision of buying acreage and developing a site with several houses, an area for recreation and relaxation that each Missionary can utilize.
